Glasdir Skills Academy on the Road
The alarm was set for 6am, and I (Emma) was up and ready for a very exciting day out to Wrexham with Glasdir Skills Academy. After weeks of arranging, the plans had finally come together for the first training day to be held at AVOW, Wrexham on the 9th of March.
After getting lost, sitting in traffic for 30 minutes, and even going round the city a number of times, I finally arrived to meet our new trainer Colin to run our first Microsoft Word course at AVOW.
We were welcomed with a lovely cup coffee and 9.30am soon came round, it was time to welcome the delegates and start the course. After a short introduction, Colin went on to ask what people want out of this course, and the questions started to build! Colins face was a picture, I honestly don’t think he was expecting such a long list, in fact the list covered nearly ¾ of the white board! We both looked at each other with slight worry, do they really know they only have one day of training!?
Many cups of coffee later, it was time to stop for lunch. By lunch time, Colin had wizzed through nearly half of the list, and he popped out for a much deserved greggs! After lunch everyone was re energised, and excited to learn new tricks and tips.
4.30pm crept up on us and Colin had successfully crossed off all the points on the board, even squeezed in extra trips the delegates seemed very amazed with. It’s amazing what you can learn about a programme you use every day, even I left the room gobsmacked with some of the features! It was then time to pack up, and drive back home to Llanrwst.
We will be back at Wrexham again on the 25th of May running a Microsoft Excel course with Colin, looking forward to seeing you all again at AVOW 🙂
