‘Real Women – at it again’
Spirits are high here at the Skills Academy this overcast Monday morning! We all went to see the live show ‘Real Women, at it again’ at Venue Cymru last Saturday night. What a performance – it’s definitely the hot topic of our morning. 🙂
‘Real Women, at it again’ is the idea of Craig Ryder, a Llanrwst boy who’s now a West End star with his roots firmly placed in his home town. He brought together a group of ordinary and everyday women, who lead ordinary and everyday lives to share their innermost secrets with us. If you were lucky enough to get a ticket for Saturday nights performance I’m sure you all related to a few if not most of the incredible stories that made us both laugh and cry!
So let’s cut to the chase, how does this show relate to Glasdir Skills Academy?
Well, believe it or not, one of the fabulous women who got on that stage on Saturday was one of our very own Glasdir Skills Academy trainers – Marina Kogan.
And what an inspiration she was. Marina shared a very personal family story dating back WWII in Russia, being where Marina grew up. It was a truly remarkable tale, reminding us all that the ‘every day stress’ we feel becomes irrelevant when faced with literal life and death decisions which were all too common place in Russia during that period.
Not only did Marina share her story, but she also took on the role within the show to play the Salon Manager, and what a perfect role for Marina to play. With her background knowledge of stress management, and goal setting it suited Marina down to a T. Combining her professional and personal self together, she complimented her role perfectly and was a great asset to the cast and show.
You’re now starting to wonder how Marina became a ‘Real Women’? It’s a funny story really, early this year, the ‘Real Women’ were on the lookout for two new women to join the amazing ladies! Marina auditioned, originally not planning too, and swept the judging panel off their feet, and the next minute she was rehearsing with the ‘Real Women’.
We’re super excited for the ladies, and we hope we don’t have to wait too long till they set another date for the fab show! It’s amazing to see such inspirational women come together to create such a strong bond to unite so many women together. It’s all about the girl power! 🙂
